Crypto Projects Repurchase Over $638M in Tokens, Led by Hyperliquid and Pump.fun
Crypto buybacks have become one of the market's strongest new narratives. Over $638 million has been repurchased by projects this year, led by Hyperliquid and Pump.fun. The decentralized perpetuals exchange directs approximately 99% of eligible trading-fee revenue toward HYPE purchases through its Assistance Fund, with acquired tokens permanently removed from supply.
Pump.fun's mechanism directs about 50% of designated revenue from its launchpad, PumpSwap exchange, and trading products toward buying and burning PUMP. The buyback wave matters because projects are using revenue to purchase tokens from the market, reducing available supply or supporting demand.
AlphaPepe is another project participating in this trend, but with a different approach. It's building an exchange-linked token before launch, with AlphaSwap utility and a $0.02873 presale price. The announced listing price begins at $0.08, creating a clear gap between the current entry and the planned public-market level.
AlphaPepe has already raised $2.58 million and has more than 11,500 holders. Its live AI-powered DEX is designed to scan token contracts, flag risky setups, track whale movement, and surface trend signals, giving retail traders a smarter way to assess tokens before making swaps.
