Crypto Prop Firms Reveal Simulated Capital Secret

Crypto prop firms offer traders a way to trade using the firm's capital in exchange for a share of the profits. These firms have proliferated, but many traders are unaware that nearly all of them use simulated or notionally-calculated capital rather than live brokerage deposits.

HyroTrader is an exception, offering real exchange execution and verifiable on-chain payouts to its funded traders. The firm has paid out over $5 million to over 1,700 funded traders since its launch in 2022.

Other firms, such as FTMO and Crypto Fund Trader, offer broader instrument access but with limitations. FTMO's crypto leverage is capped at 1:3.3, while Crypto Fund Trader offers up to 1:100 on Bybit evaluations.
