Crypto Pullback Slams Coinbase Ahead of Key Policy Votes
Coinbase shares declined sharply in premarket trading as major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ether, experienced significant drops.
The stock fell 4.4% to $183.11 from an intraday high of $193.22, with the decline coinciding with heightened attention on the U.S. Senate's procedural cloture vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act.
The bill requires 60 votes to move forward and aims to provide more precise token classifications and reduce regulatory ambiguity for crypto-focused firms.
Compass Point raised its rating on Coinbase to Neutral from Sell in the prior session, increasing its price target to $177, which reflects a measured recovery view based on the possibility that Bitcoin may have reached a cyclical bottom.
