Crypto Revenue Rises, Token Prices Lag Behind
Crypto revenue is on the rise for some projects, but investors are still hesitant to reward their tokens. Maker's Sky generated $210.9 million in revenue over the past 90 days, making it the highest among major protocols.
However, despite its strong earnings, Maker's SKY token fell 33.5% in value. This disconnect between protocol performance and token prices is not unique to Maker.
Spark's token dropped 55.3% while its revenue slipped only 2.6%, and Bittensor increased revenue 25.4% to $3.3 million despite its token losing 24.7%. The figures suggest that growing protocol revenue alone may not be enough to drive up token prices.
Analysts warn that without mechanisms such as buybacks, rewards, or governance that return value to holders, protocol revenue is unlikely to translate into higher token values. This underscores a growing disconnect between crypto adoption and token market impact.
