Crypto Scammer Identified: $5M Stolen in Impersonation Scheme
A $5 million crypto theft has been linked to Tiffany Milanovich, who allegedly impersonated support teams at Coinbase and Trezor. ZachXBT, a prominent on-chain analyst, identified Milanovich as the suspect behind the thefts.
The scheme unfolded in June when Milanovich sent phishing emails under the alias 'Patricia Massie', compromising a Trezor wallet and netting approximately $1.2 million in Bitcoin and Ethereum. In October 2025, she reportedly gained control of a Coinbase account, stealing an additional $500,000 in Bitcoin.
Milanoivh's tactics involved leaving call recordings that ridiculed victims and flaunting her ill-gotten gains through gambling, luxury purchases, and balance-verification posts on Telegram and Discord. The case highlights the growing sophistication of social engineering attacks in the cryptocurrency space.
