The crypto industry is having a significant impact on the US economy, according to a new report from the National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA). The sector is expected to generate $55 billion in total economic output this year and sustain 232,000 positions nationwide.
This includes 34,000 direct roles at crypto companies, which averages an annual pay of $133,000. This figure is more than twice the national median wage of $64,000.
The NCA's analysis relies on input-output modeling from the Bureau of Economic Analysis and Bureau of Labor Statistics data. The report highlights that crypto investments in securities and commodity contracts account for the largest share at $9.7 billion, followed by housing and real estate at $4.8 billion.
