Crypto Security Breaches Hit Record High, Surpassing $1 Billion in H1 2026
Crypto security breaches have reached an all-time high in H1 2026, according to a report by Blockaid. The total losses from these incidents surpassed $1 billion, with 212 separate security breaches recorded. Ethereum- and Solana-related projects suffered significant losses of approximately $332 million and $326 million, respectively.
The KelpDAO incident was the most significant single exploit during this period, resulting in a loss of $292 million due to a cross-chain vulnerability. These developments underscore the ongoing challenges faced by the crypto sector in maintaining security.
