Crypto Sees Gains Amid Iran-US Tensions Easing
The cryptocurrency market opened the week on a positive note as tensions in the Middle East eased.
A pause in strikes between the US and Iran sent oil prices tumbling, causing inflation fears to unwind. As a result, risk assets such as gold and silver rose in value.
Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 index futures are up by 1.36% and 0.80%, respectively. The CoinDesk 20 Index (CD20) has gained 0.1% since midnight UTC, with a 24-hour increase of 1.6%. Bitcoin is lower at $65,200, but this follows a spike to $65,600 on Sunday.
Ethereum outperformed bitcoin, rising by 0.51% to $1,963 and approaching the psychologically significant $2,000 level for the first time since June.
