Crypto Skeptic Rep Holds $45K in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs
Michigan Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib holds significant positions in Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) through her retirement accounts, according to her latest financial disclosure. The filing shows she bought iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) on April 28 and May 29, 2025, coinciding with rollovers of two employer retirement plans into her Schwab accounts.
Tlaib's holdings include up to $30,000 in IBIT through both her Schwab Rollover Traditional IRA and her Schwab Roth Contributory IRA. Her Roth IRA also holds the Grayscale Ethereum Staking Mini ETF valued between $1,001 and $15,000.
The disclosure highlights Tlaib's conflicting stance on cryptocurrency legislation. She voted against the CLARITY Act in July 2025, which aimed to establish a market structure framework for digital assets. The Senate is set to take up the same bill in September.
