Crypto Sportsbooks Fail to Deliver Depth in Secondary Leagues
Crypto sportsbooks often tout their extensive coverage of football leagues, but what happens when you look beyond the big five leagues? A recent comparison of seven crypto sportsbooks found that while they may list many secondary leagues, few offer more than a basic result and goals line market.
The test applied to these platforms was whether they extend full market depth into secondary competitions, including corners, cards, player props, and alternate lines. The results showed that only one platform, Dexsport, consistently offered this level of coverage, even on midweek fixtures in lower divisions.
One reason for the thin coverage is economics: pricing a market requires data, a model, and trading attention, which costs money. While a Premier League fixture may justify a full board due to high volume, a second-tier match may not be worth the investment. This means that even platforms with a strong reputation can struggle to offer depth in secondary competitions.
To test a platform's coverage, users are advised to open a midweek fixture in their preferred league and count what markets appear. If the result is sparse, it may be a sign that the platform prioritizes bigger leagues.
