Crypto Stocks CRCL and COIN Soar Ahead of Critical Economic Reports
Crypto-linked stocks CRCL and COIN have seen significant gains in recent trading sessions. CRCL rose by 9.41% to $95.34, while COIN increased by 5.81% to $189.02.
The prices of these stocks are influenced by the performance of Bitcoin, which has held steady near $79,000. However, analysts are cautioning that both the ISM PMI and JOLTS reports scheduled for release on September 1 could trigger volatility in the markets.
The ISM PMI report will provide August manufacturing data, with a focus on inflation concerns. The BLS will also release July job openings data as part of the JOLTS report. Recent data has shown that job openings have decreased by 40% from their peak in 2022, while quits have declined by 29%. If the reports show strong figures, it could lead to higher Treasury yields and a stronger dollar, potentially pressuring Bitcoin and high-beta crypto equities.
However, softer figures could reduce tightening expectations and support further upside. CRCL's stock price has been recovering from an early decline below its previous close, with key resistance levels set at $96.60 and potential targets of $100 and $102.50 if broken above. COIN shares have also seen a sharp reversal, reclaiming the $180 level and accelerating above $185.
