Crypto Tax Software Pricing Diverges Amid Transaction Count
Crypto tax software is necessary for German investors to track their cryptocurrency transactions accurately for tax returns. These programs can handle large numbers of transactions, but their pricing models are complex and often expensive for active traders.
According to a recent survey by cryptoticker.io, four providers - Blockpit, Divly, Waltio, and Coinpanda - were compared based on their public pricing pages. The study found that the prices of these services depend on the number of transactions in the relevant tax year, with neither the portfolio value nor the number of connected exchanges affecting the cost.
Blockpit offers one-off purchases per tax year, ranging from 49 to 549 euros, while Divly and Waltio offer annual subscriptions. Coinpanda stands out as it bills in US dollars and does not provide a German tax form, although Germany is covered under its general support for countries permitting FIFO or LIFO methods.
When comparing prices for 1,000 transactions per year, three of the four providers - Blockpit, Divly, and Waltio - land at 99 euros, with the main difference being in billing models: one-off purchase versus annual subscription. However, price alone is not decisive; users should check if their trading venues are connected to each provider.
