Crypto Tokens Face Bleak Odds of Survival on Top Exchanges

A new report from CoinGecko reveals that nearly 90% of newly listed tokens on major centralized crypto exchanges fall below their debut price within a year. The analysis, part of the firm's 2026 Spot CEX Report, looked at listing performance across the top 12 exchanges and found that only about 32% of new tokens posted positive price action in their first 30 days.

After 60 days, this number dropped to just 25%, and by the one-year mark, fewer than 10% still traded above their initial listing price. Binance led the way initially, but its early advantage faded as all of its newly listed tokens eventually fell below their debut price by the 300-day mark.

Upbit posted strong short-term results, with 67% of new listings finishing in the green after 30 days. However, its tokens also eventually dropped below their debut prices. The only exchange where listed tokens saw a rebound was Coinbase, which experienced an increase in value after six months.
