Crypto VC Participation Hits Lowest Level Since November 2020

Share

Crypto venture capital participation has fallen to its lowest level since November 2020. In July 2026, only 150 unique VC firms were involved in crypto funding rounds, according to CryptoRank.

This is a significant drop from the peak of 1,177 active investors recorded in May 2022. The decline suggests that crypto venture investment has become more concentrated among a smaller group of funds.

The decrease in participation can be attributed to severe regulatory tightening and low trading volumes. This has led to reduced fees on decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and centralized exchanges (CEXs), discouraging fundraising and token launch activity.
