A notorious crypto whale has suffered its second major theft in two years, losing $26 million after hackers apparently compromised their private key.

The victim, linked to wallet TLBL, had previously lost over $24 million in a phishing attack in 2024. This latest incident, reported by Lookonchain on August 13, saw more than $26 million drained from three wallets associated with the whale.

The stolen assets include WBTC, DAI, WBTC, ETH, USDC, sDAI, USDS, cbBTC, and several other tokens. According to PeckShield, the attacker had swapped part of the stolen holdings into 20 million DAI and about 3,000 ETH, worth around $5.64 million.

The total value of assets associated with TLBL's two thefts now stands at approximately $50.3 million. The incident raises questions about how much stronger security practices can help when a wallet has already been targeted.
