Crypto Whales Bet Big on ETH, SOL, XRP Amid BTC Rally
Bitcoin's recent price rally has reshaped the crypto capital rotation trade, with whale activity showing where large holders are positioning beyond BTC. While Bitcoin remains the core institutional asset, other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, and Hyperliquid's HYPE token are attracting fresh attention as traders seek stronger relative performance and higher-beta opportunities.
Ethereum is emerging as a leading large-cap alternative for fresh crypto risk exposure. A whale recently opened an approximately $44.85 million ETH perpetual long using 25x leverage, while another large position remains valued at roughly $107 million. This positioning places ETH at the center of the current rotation, particularly as traders look for an asset with substantial liquidity and higher upside beta than Bitcoin.
Solana is also attracting capital further up the risk curve. One whale recently opened a 100,000 SOL long position worth approximately $10.45 million with 20x leverage after previously generating substantial gains from an ETH trade. The token's relative strength has made it one of the market's most closely watched large-cap altcoins.
XRP is attracting a significant share of capital through investment products, recording approximately $39.78 million in weekly net inflows. This demand is tied more closely to its institutional adoption and payments narrative, giving investors a separate catalyst from the broader smart-contract and DeFi trade.
