Cryptocurrencies Prioritize Speed as Transaction Per Second Becomes Key Factor in Success
As the world becomes increasingly digitized, speed has become a crucial factor in determining the success of any project. This is especially true for cryptocurrencies, which require fast transaction times to remain competitive. Among the top cryptocurrencies with high transactions per second (TPS) are Solana, Ripple, Ethereum, Algorand, and Cardano.
Solana stands out as a highly scalable platform, capable of processing between 1,500 to 4,000 + TPS, with a maximum limit of 65,000. Its combination of consensus mechanisms, including Proof-of-Stake (PoS) and Proof-of-History (PoH), enables high throughput without compromising security. Additionally, Solana's block finality time is impressively low at 21 to 46 seconds.
Ripple also boasts a high TPS of 1,500, making it an efficient platform for cross-border transactions. Its innovative validation process uses a list of trusted validators, requiring 80% consensus before a transaction can be completed. Ripple has established partnerships with numerous banks worldwide due to its speed and efficiency.
Ethereum is another major player in the cryptocurrency market, aiming to reach 100,000 TPS through future upgrades such as Layer-2 options and ZK-rollup advances. Currently, it processes around 15-30 TPS but has reached up to 33,000 with new upgrades.
