Cryptocurrency Exchanges Enter Traditional Finance with Tokenized Stock Markets
The cryptocurrency market is expanding beyond its own assets as more and more platforms launch tokenized stock markets. Tokenized real-world assets now account for 29% of total crypto market volume on perpetual DEXs, a growth of 18,000% since Q4 2025.
This trend is driven by reduced volatility in the crypto market, which has led to lower speculative turnover and a more stable flow of commission revenue for exchanges. The introduction of tokenized assets trading also expands the total addressable market for crypto platforms, making it an attractive feature for users.
Exchanges are becoming all-in-one platforms by listing tokenized assets on their platforms, allowing users to trade BTC and traditional financial instruments such as stocks and indices in a single interface. This reduces switching costs and increases user retention.
