Cryptocurrency Fraud and Vehicle Crashes Plague Manistee County
Citizens in Manistee County reported various incidents to law enforcement from August 27 to August 31. On August 29, a cryptocurrency fraud was reported at 3:40 p.m. in Norman Township.
The incident occurred during the same period when deputies helped people multiple times and conducted well-being checks and property checks throughout the county. An intoxicated driver crashed their vehicle at 5:18 a.m. on August 30 in Manistee Township, and an injured hawk was reported at 2 p.m. on August 31 in Norman Township.
Deputies also filed reports of four abandoned vehicles in Bear Lake Township at 9 a.m. on August 29. In other incidents, vehicle-deer accidents were reported throughout the county, as well as property damage and domestic disputes.
