Cryptocurrency Investors Flee for AI Stocks as Bitcoin Stalls
Investors are increasingly selling off cryptocurrency and shifting their funds into AI-related stocks. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, this trend is just the beginning of a shakeout in the crypto market. The rotation out of cryptocurrencies explains why Bitcoin has stalled at around $60,000 after plummeting from its record high of over $126,000 reached in October.
Daniel Koss, a 30-year-old investor from Switzerland, had been actively investing in Bitcoin but sold his entire position in August last year. He now holds all his investments tied to artificial intelligence and believes that explosive growth is no longer possible for Bitcoin. 'I think even doubling in value would be a lot, because it's become so large,' Koss emphasized.
Ryan Ho, the 25-year-old founder of Legend, also shifted his funds from cryptocurrencies into AI stocks after the October crash. He believes that AI has more compelling growth potential due to its real-world applications and is no longer tied to the stock market like cryptocurrency was. 'That's exactly why most crypto traders have started trading shares of AI companies in recent months,' Ho noted.
