Cryptocurrency Market in Mixed Signals as Bitcoin Holds Below Key MAs
The cryptocurrency market is experiencing mixed signals, with Bitcoin (BTC) holding below its 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $64,637 and remaining well below its 100-day EMA at $66,977 and the 200-day EMA at $72,419. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) is marginally below its signal line, hinting at waning downside momentum, while the Relative Strength Index (RSI) near 51 suggests a broadly neutral tone rather than a decisive directional push.
Ethereum (ETH), on the other hand, has seen large holders accumulate the supply of retail investors. According to CryptoQuant analysts, the supply of the 1K-10K ETH cohort has fallen from 15.6 million ETH in January to roughly 12.9 million ETH. This distribution pattern accelerated in early January and late April, preceding notable declines in the top altcoin.
CryptoQuant's report highlights that Ethereum whales have been absorbing retail distribution as the bear market nears its late stage. The data suggests that large holders are accumulating the supply of smaller investors, which could indicate a potential reversal in price trend.
