Cryptocurrency Market Sees Declines Across the Board
The cryptocurrency market has seen some fluctuations in recent weeks, with Bitcoin and Ether experiencing declines. According to Advisor Perspectives, Bitcoin was down 1.5% this week as of September 1, while Ether was down 1%. XRP, on the other hand, saw a more significant drop of 6%.
Over the past year, Bitcoin has been down approximately 12%, while Ether has fallen roughly 19%. These declines are in stark contrast to their record highs, with Bitcoin sitting about 38% below its October 2025 high and Ether roughly 62% below its August 2025 close.
The market share of these cryptocurrencies continues to shift, with Bitcoin currently holding the top spot. However, all three have held the lead at various points in history, making their pricing histories significantly different.
