Cryptocurrency Market Sees Mild Decline Amid Gains by Smaller Tokens
The global cryptocurrency market capitalization declined by 0.3% to $2.77 trillion on September 7, 2026, according to CoinGecko data.
Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) prices fell 0.2% and 0.3%, respectively, with trading volumes reaching $21.5 billion and $10.27 billion.
In contrast, some smaller tokens showed significant gains: ORBIO surged 160%, SHRUB increased by 121.5%, and Anonymous Cat jumped 71%. However, Bittensor (TAO) also rose 13.4%.
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index remained in Greed territory at 71, indicating a slight decline from the previous day but still significantly higher than last month's level of 30.
