Cryptocurrency Market Sees Modest Gains Amid Broader Market Stability

The cryptocurrency market showed modest gains on August 26th. Bitcoin (BTC) increased by 0.5%, while Ethereum (ETH) rose by 0.9%. However, the DeFi sector experienced a decline of 2.0%.

The Layer1 segment also saw a decrease of 0.5%, whereas the Layer2 segment surged ahead with a gain of 5.8%. The Exchange and AI sectors declined by 1.2% and 3.5% respectively, while Meme tokens suffered a drop of 3.7%.

The broader market also saw some movement, with the S&P remaining flat, the Nasdaq flat, and the 10-year treasury yield at 4.720%. Gold prices stood at $4,490, while Brent crude oil increased to $90.4 due to geopolitical factors.
