Cryptocurrency Market Trades Mixed on Friday with Select Altcoins Rising
The cryptocurrency market traded mixed on Friday, with Bitcoin and Ethereum both experiencing declines. Bitcoin slipped 0.96% to $64,147 over the past 24 hours, while Ethereum fell 0.62% to $1,861. This soft tone across the two bellwether assets typically anchors market direction.
Altcoins were broadly weaker, with XRP down 1.35%, BNB lower by 0.17%, and Solana falling 2.16%. In contrast, Tron rose 1.56% and Dogecoin gained 0.18%, underscoring the market's uneven footing.
Market-wide capitalization stood at about $2.19 trillion, while total 24-hour spot trading volume was approximately $63.55 billion. Within that, the altcoin market cap was roughly $904.02 billion with $37.14 billion in daily volume, figures that point to steady activity even as prices drift lower.
Bitcoin's share of total crypto market value eased to 58.74%, down 0.14 percentage points from the prior day, which some see as a partial dispersion of capital toward altcoins.
