Cryptocurrency Prices Surge Amid White House Meeting Rumors
The global cryptocurrency market is experiencing a surge in prices, with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin showing significant gains. According to TradingView, Bitcoin rose by 1.83% to $64,285.51, while Ethereum increased by 0.62% to $1,905.61. The Black Bull and Pieverse also saw notable gains of 19.95% and 16.03%, respectively.
However, the rise in cryptocurrency prices is not without its challenges. On-chain analytics firm CryptoQuant highlighted that Bitcoin's Coinbase Premium Index has been negative for over three months, indicating a lack of institutional demand. The analyst noted that until this index crosses back above zero, a high-momentum uptrend in BTC is unlikely.
The global market capitalization stood at $2.18 trillion, following a marginal increase of 0.58% over the last 24 hours. Stocks began the new trading week in the red, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling by 272.63 points.
President Donald Trump is reportedly expected to host top cryptocurrency, prediction market, and finance executives at the White House this week, which may have contributed to the recent price surge. The meeting could lead to increased institutional investment in cryptocurrencies.
