Cryptocurrency Trading Volume Drops 70% to $15B Amid Market Uncertainty
The global cryptocurrency market capitalization has seen an increase of 1.23% over the previous day, trading at $2.18 trillion at press time.
However, this growth is accompanied by a significant decline in cryptocurrency trading activity, with daily Spot trading volume dropping to about $15 billion across 44 exchanges.
This represents a 70% decrease from the January peak and marks the lowest amount of the year so far.
The market only saw two days in early February when cryptocurrency trading volumes topped $100 billion.
According to The Kobeissi Letter, this decline in trading volume could be indicative of investors waiting for a catalyst or shift in monetary policy before investing new money.
