Cryptolink Crypto ATMs Halted Amid Compliance Concerns
Australian financial intelligence agency AUSTRAC has suspended Cryptolink's Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) registration for three months from August 9, affecting its 96 cryptocurrency ATMs in Australia.
The suspension comes after AUSTRAC found that Cryptolink failed to submit required threshold transaction reports and respond to an information request. The regulator also cited ongoing concerns over the company's ability to comply with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) requirements.
This is not the first time AUSTRAC has taken action against Cryptolink. In October 2025, the agency accepted an enforceable undertaking after its Cryptocurrency Taskforce identified alleged contraventions involving delayed reporting of threshold transactions and shortcomings in Cryptolink's AML/CTF risk assessments.
Cryptolink was issued a $56,340 infringement notice as part of this enforcement action. The company has acknowledged lapses behind delayed threshold reports but denied condoning or supporting illicit use of its cryptocurrency ATMs.
