Crypto's Latest Slump Is Not an End to Growth, Says Block Scholes CEO
Bitcoin has stumbled into one of its historically weakest months, and investors have shifted their attention to AI stocks and trillion-dollar tech companies. However, Eamonn Gashier, founder and CEO of Block Scholes, believes this slowdown is a normal part of the market's maturation process.
Gashier points out that periods of sharp rallies in crypto are often followed by corrections, lower volatility, and extended trading ranges before the next investment narrative emerges. He notes that changing capital flows reflect shifting market preferences rather than a breakdown in crypto itself.
The market has become more selective, distinguishing between projects that solve real-world problems and those driven primarily by speculation. Gashier cites Hyperliquid's HYPE token as an example of genuine utility, which is increasingly being priced accordingly.
Gashier believes blockchain technology is gradually becoming financial plumbing rather than a niche technology. He notes that large financial institutions are exploring tokenized funds, on-chain settlement, and digital asset infrastructure to reduce costs and improve settlement speeds.
