CTA Presses Senate for Clarity on Digital Asset Rules
The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) is calling on the Senate to advance the CLARITY Act, which aims to establish clear federal rules for digital assets. The CTA represents over 1,300 technology companies and has been advocating for regulatory certainty in the crypto space.
Michael Petricone, senior vice president of government affairs at CTA, stated on X that the House completed its work on the legislation and industry stakeholders support it. He emphasized that the Senate must now decide whether financial innovation will develop in the US or overseas.
The CLARITY Act has already passed the House with broad bipartisan support, but its path to a vote in the Senate remains uncertain. The bill's revisions address market oversight, consumer protections, and regulatory authority over digital assets, but some senators have expressed concerns about ethics rules.
