Curve DAO's CRV Token Surges 16% as DeFi Demand Returns
Curve DAO's token CRV has seen a significant surge in value over the past 24 hours, rising by more than 16% to turn its weekly change positive at around 9%. This increase comes as demand for decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens surges, particularly for stablecoin liquidity to enable swaps.
According to data from DeFiLlama, Curve Finance's network has seen a notable increase in activity, with the protocol providing deep stablecoin liquidity and enabling efficient swaps against other tokens. The market cap of crvUSD stands at over $283 million, while active addresses and transactions have averaged around 6,000 and 30K respectively for the past two consecutive days.
The Total Value Locked (TVL) in Curve Finance has also increased by more than $300 million this quarter, from $1.43 billion in July to $1.70 billion. This network data confirms the demand across the whole of the DeFi sector and reinforces CRV's market structure shift, with the token trading above its most recent higher high.
However, traders should be cautious and aware of potential corrections if the bulls do not hold the price above $0.345. The Bull Bear Power (BBP) has confirmed the buying activity, indicating that demand is present and exploding alongside other tokens such as Uniswap [UNI].
