CyberLeek Token Fuels GTA 6 Leak Hype with $50,000 Fee Estimate
The alleged Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) leaks have taken an unexpected turn as the CyberLeek token, launched on the Solana blockchain, has generated significant trading fees. The token was created to promote the leaked videos and was used for a paid voting system tied to future releases.
According to an investigation by Vice Cit, a GTAForums member, around $29,000 was spent setting up the token, website, and infrastructure before trading volumes surged into the millions. CyberLeek released several alleged GTA 6 videos since August 18, promoting the $CYBERLEEK token alongside the footage.
The token reached a market capitalization of about $25 million on August 23, with its 24-hour trading volume reaching $36.1 million. The investigation also found that CyberLeek burned 270 million tokens in a transaction on the Solana network, worth around $1.4 million at the time.
The blockchain trail points towards KuCoin, as several wallets used to fund the CyberLeek operation were connected to an address associated with the exchange. The investigation followed the funding through a chain of blockchain transactions to the CyberLeek wallet.
