A Delaware federal jury has ruled in favor of Beckman Coulter in a patent infringement case against Cytek Biosciences. The jury found that Cytek's products, including its Aurora flow cytometers, infringe on Beckman's patents for technology used in its competing CytoFLEX platform.

The jury ordered Cytek to pay Beckman $36 million in royalties and $20 million in lost profits, totaling $56 million. Cytek CEO Wenbin Jiang stated that the company 'fundamentally disagrees' with the damages award and intends to pursue post-trial remedies, including potentially an appeal.

The lawsuit was filed by Danaher-owned Beckman Coulter against California-based Cytek Biosciences in 2024. Cytek denied the allegations, arguing that the patents were invalid.
