CZ Binance Seeks Passporting System for Crypto Across ASEAN

Changpeng Zhao (CZ Binance) proposed a passporting system for crypto companies across ASEAN at the ASEAN Tech Summit Manila 2026. This would allow firms licensed in one member state to operate across the rest of the bloc with a streamlined approval process.

The proposal aims to reduce compliance costs and improve services for consumers by allowing more licensed platforms to compete regionally.

Zhao referenced the EU's MiCA model, which allows crypto-asset service providers authorized in one EU member state to passport their services across all 27 member states without a fresh application.
