CZ Brings Optimism to Hong Kong Bitcoin Conference Amid Industry Slump
Binance founder Zhao Changpeng (CZ) delivered a bullish address at this year's Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong, despite a lingering crypto slump and waning enthusiasm among attendees.
CZ expressed his confidence that bitcoin will surpass gold in importance soon, stating 'I think bitcoin will overtake gold pretty soon.' He also commended the United Arab Emirates for having 'the most progressive crypto regulations' and noted that Hong Kong is moving quickly on cryptocurrency regulation.
The prevailing mood at the conference was one of caution and uncertainty, with some attendees citing a prolonged bear market and the shift in public attention towards artificial intelligence as reasons for their pessimism. Brandon Green, CEO of BTC, the company behind the conference, acknowledged that 'psychologically, I think this has been one of the hardest bear markets we've had,' partly due to the impact on bitcoiners' ego.
