CZ Predicts Bitcoin to Surpass Gold in Next Bull Run
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao predicted that Bitcoin will surpass gold in market importance during the next major bull run. Speaking at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference, CZ argued that the gap between the two assets has narrowed enough to make the shift plausible within the coming cycle.
Gold currently holds a market capitalization of around $32.4 trillion, while Bitcoin's is approximately $1.6 trillion, making gold ten times larger. However, CZ believes that sovereign allocations will eventually tilt toward digital assets, and he recommends governments hold crypto reserves with about 50% Bitcoin and 10-20% Ethereum.
CZ also discussed the role of artificial intelligence in crypto adoption, expecting AI agents to begin transacting with stablecoins before moving into Bitcoin. He estimates that AI-assisted trading could increase efficiency tenfold, making it a key factor in Bitcoin's future growth.
