CZ Sees Hong Kong as Key Player in Web3 Growth
Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao spoke at a book club event in Hong Kong, highlighting the city's potential as a hub for Web3 development.
Zhao mentioned that Hong Kong's fintech talent, mainland-to-Hong-Kong talent mobility, and institutional connectivity give it an edge over other jurisdictions.
He named several markets, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the US, as those he expects to benefit from supportive digital-asset policy.
Zhao also discussed real-world asset tokenization, stating that it has outpaced his own expectations, particularly in securities. He sees tokenized assets as a way for investors to access traditional markets without account-opening thresholds or geographic restrictions.
The Binance CEO also touched on stablecoins, saying they can be seen as fiat currency's equivalent in the on-chain RWA (real-world asset) form.
