CZ Zhao Says IPOs Will Move On-Chain as Binance Trades $30 Billion in bStocks
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao has predicted that initial public offerings (IPOs) will shift to blockchain, marking a deeper integration of traditional finance and the crypto industry. This comes as the US SEC pushes for tokenization, with Binance's pre-IPO perpetual contracts on-chain seeing massive demand.
The cumulative trading volume of bStocks has surpassed $30 billion in just three months, with Changpeng Zhao stating that IPOs will 'completely shift' to blockchain. While he did not highlight any specific projects working on this goal or Binance's plans for offering IPOs on-chain, the infrastructure is already being built.
The SEC has proposed rule changes for transfer agents regarding tokenized securities, reflecting registered transfer agents' use of blockchain in their current operations. Tokenized stocks and pre-IPO offerings are witnessing significant demand, with many exchanges and platforms offering tokenized stocks for leading US companies.
