Dalio Reaffirms Gold Preference Over Bitcoin Amid Quantum Computing Concerns
Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio has reaffirmed his preference for gold as a hedge against economic uncertainty, despite maintaining a small allocation to Bitcoin in his investment portfolio.
In an interview on the Diary of a CEO podcast, Dalio expressed concerns about Bitcoin's long-term viability due to risks from quantum computing and government action.
He pointed out that while Bitcoin's capped supply is a positive attribute, it does not make it a reliable investment on its own.
Dalio also highlighted the risk of government surveillance and taxation undermining Bitcoin's use as a decentralized asset, which he believes gold can mitigate with its long history as a stable store of value and physical properties.
