Dalio Recommends Diversifying into Gold and a Bit of Bitcoin Amid Government Debt Crisis
Legendary investor Ray Dalio recently advised diversifying away from debt assets and toward gold and Bitcoin as a hedge against rising government debt. The U.S. national debt has recently passed $40 trillion, prompting concern among investors.
Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, noted that major economies like the U.K., U.S., Europe, and Japan all have similar debt and deficit problems. He suggested that assets like Bitcoin, which are not issued by governments, could benefit from these issues.
Bitcoin makes up only about 1% of Dalio's portfolio, but he acknowledged its potential as a hedge against government printing. He also warned of risks associated with quantum computing advances, which could potentially compromise the security of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.
