Dalio Repeats Optimism for Bitcoin Amid Government Debt Concerns
Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio has once again expressed his optimism about Bitcoin's future performance. In a LinkedIn essay published last Friday, he stated that he expects Bitcoin to do 'relatively well' as governments worldwide struggle with debt and deficits.
This is not the first time Dalio has made this prediction. In an interview three weeks prior, he mentioned keeping only 1% of his portfolio in Bitcoin and expressed a preference for gold as a hedge.
Dalio's views on Bitcoin are closely tied to his concerns about government debt and deficits. He argues that these issues will lead to economic instability, which Bitcoin can mitigate due to its limited supply and decentralized nature.
Recent events seem to support Dalio's thesis. The US Treasury announced last Wednesday that it would double the size of its long-term bond buyback operations, which led to a 22% gain in Bitcoin's price over the week.
