Dalio Warns of Debt Crisis: Buy Gold, Bitcoin Amid Rising Risks
Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates and an investor worth over $15 billion, has spoken out about his views on investing in a potential debt crisis. In a LinkedIn post, he recommended that investors have between 10% to 15% of their portfolio in gold as a way to reduce risk.
Dalio also suggested buying 'a bit' of Bitcoin amid these risks, which include internal political and external geopolitical conflicts. He specified that the potential debt crisis could come within three years if current trends continue, although he acknowledged this would be a bad guess.
This advice echoes Dalio's previous comments on gold and Bitcoin. In July 2025, he said investors should hold up to 15% in these assets, and in 2022, he recommended holding between 1% to 2% of BTC in one's portfolio as 'reasonable.'
