Dalio Warns of U.S. Debt Burden as Federal Debt Hits $40 Trillion
Billionaire investor Ray Dalio has renewed his support for holding gold and some Bitcoin as U.S. federal debt has crossed $40 trillion.
Dalio advised investors to favor gold and some Bitcoin over debt assets such as bonds, citing the government's financial position had reached an inflection point.
The Bridgewater Associates founder said the U.S. government’s financial situation had become increasingly unsustainable, with a total outstanding debt of $40.047 trillion on August 18.
Dalio recommended diversifying assets across countries and asset classes, underweighting debt assets like bonds, and overweighting gold and Bitcoin.
