Danville Police have issued a warning to the public about an ongoing Bitcoin scam.

The police department took to social media to alert residents of a phishing scheme targeting local citizens, specifically those in Danville. The scammers are reportedly using fake emails or messages claiming to be from Bitcoin representatives, attempting to trick individuals into divulging sensitive financial information. Fayette County schools hosted a Back to School Bash at the Kentucky Horse Park recently, but it's unclear if any attendees were targeted by the scam.
