Danville Police Warns Public About Bitcoin Scam
The Danville Police Department has issued a warning to the public about a Bitcoin scam. According to reports, the scam involves individuals contacting potential victims and claiming they have won money in a Bitcoin lottery or contest.
The scammers then ask for personal and financial information from the victims, supposedly to facilitate the payment of their winnings.
This is not the first time Danville Police has warned about this type of scam. The department says it's seen an increase in these types of cases recently, with victims reporting losses ranging from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars.
