Dark Money Group Enters Crypto Lobbying fray with Clarity Act Focus
A mysterious dark money group called Contours Inc., which has contributed millions of dollars to Democratic and independent super PACs, has registered to lobby on the Clarity Act, a key piece of cryptocurrency legislation.
The group hired Rob Robilliard, a senior policy advisor at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, as its lobbyist. Robilliard previously worked for the Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI), an industry group whose members include Coinbase and Andreessen Horowitz.
Contours' interest in cryptocurrency legislation brings into focus several connections between the group and Mike Novogratz, a billionaire who founded digital assets company Galaxy.
