Dartmouth's Endowment Sees Crypto Exposure Plummet by $2 Million Amid Price Drops
Dartmouth College's $9 billion endowment saw its crypto exposure drop by more than $2 million in just three months, according to a recent filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The value of the university's holdings fell by about 15% since March 31, coinciding with falling prices for Bitcoin, Solana, and Ether.
The endowment held approximately $12.4 million worth of Bitwise Solana staking exchange-traded fund (ETF), Grayscale Ethereum staking ETF, and BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin ETF as of June 30, down from $14.6 million in March.
This decline roughly corresponds to price drops for each cryptocurrency: Bitcoin fell by 7.7% to around $62,915, Solana dropped by 9.6% to about $75.11, and Ether decreased by 10.8% to approximately $1,875.
