Dash Price Soars 44% Following Mainnet Upgrade
Dash (DASH), a cryptocurrency focused on privacy, has seen its price surge by 44% to around $73.59.
The sharp rally has also pushed the daily trading volume up by 200% to $556 million.
The main driver behind Dash's price increase is the successful launch of Dash Platform v1.1 on mainnet, which adds features such as decentralized data storage and usernames (DPNS).
The upgrade also includes adaptive blocksize scaling, allowing the network to handle higher activity while keeping transactions fast and fees low.
Additionally, the launch of shielded transactions on the Evolution mainnet and a new mobile-shielded privacy beta for Android has gained further support from investors.
The increasing demand for privacy coins, led by Zcash's rally, which pushed its ZEC token price above $1000, has also contributed to the growth in investor interest.
