Dash Soars 43.6% as Bitcoin Slips Amid Crypto Market Shift
The cryptocurrency market saw significant movements in the past 24 hours, led by Dash's impressive 43.61% gain. This surge marked a stark contrast to Bitcoin's decline of 1.73%, which also affected Ethereum's price as it fell 2.30%. The total market value dropped 1.59% during this period.
While the broader market cap stood at $2.67 trillion, trading volume increased by 32.61%. Bitcoin traded at $79,595 with a $1.60 trillion market capitalization and its market dominance slipped to 59.78%. Ethereum also weakened, falling to $2,451.26, with a market capitalization of $299.10 billion.
Despite losses in the two largest cryptocurrencies, Dash took center stage as it ranked first among the top 200 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. Horizen followed closely with a 28.73% gain, while Decred, NEAR Protocol, and zkSync completed the day's top five gainers.
The strong performance of Zcash also contributed to Dash's momentum. Grayscale's US spot Zcash fund was listed on NYSE Arca on August 25 with over $300 million in assets, which later crossed the $400 million mark. As a result, Zcash and Dash are often grouped together within the same sector.
According to technical indicators, Dash's setup remains bullish, with its Awesome Oscillator histogram staying strong and MACD holding firmly above the zero line. The Chaikin Money Flow indicator also remained above zero as money inflows increased. Daily transactions continued to develop a rising trend.
