Dashjr Exits OCEAN Leadership Amid Protocol Disagreements
Luke Dashjr, co-founder of Bitcoin mining pool OCEAN, has left his positions as chairman, chief technology officer, and board director. He reached an agreement with parent company Mummolin Inc. on August 29 to formally resign from these roles.
The separation occurred due to differing visions for the future direction of mining following recent Bitcoin protocol developments. Dashjr had been gradually stepping back from OCEAN's day-to-day operations since early August and has now fully exited the leadership team and ownership structure.
Dashjr is not leaving the Bitcoin mining space, however. He will devote his efforts to a new startup called CONVOY, which aims to advance the mission of Bitcoin mining decentralization.
